This is the opening scene in the film Casino Royale. This opening chase was perfect for the intro of this film as it was harsh and gritty compared to the usual James Bond chase. The parkour and freeruning introduce Daniel Craig as the new James Bond. The intro is set on and around a Madagascan building site. It is the middle of the day when it is very bright and light. The themes in Casino Royale are survival and patriotism. The main icons in the chase are the guns that James Bond and the bomber use. There are far less icons in this cahse than would be seen in the usual James Bond chase as for this film he was striped of all is gadgets. The main narrative throughout the film is following the story of James Bond. In terms of characters for the chase there are only 2 that are central to the chase and actually named. the rest are an assortment of builders and arcitects. James Bond is obviously the main characters and he is portrayed by Daniel Craig. Alot of sky shots were used to film this scene. Also alot of close up eye level camera shots were used to show us the fights through James Bond's eyes.
